Custom teststeps: Appearance of rightclick + Insert Step different

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

i created some custom .Net-teststeps by copying the NI-steps, renaming, relinking to my dll and moving them into a new Folder (Step Type Menu Editor).

Now i can rightclick in the sequence and select Insert Step and all of my new steps are inside of the new folder.

Then i inserted all steps in this sequence and save it.

Then copy this sequenc to an other pc and open the sequence.

But now the folder is not visible any more - all steps are lying direct under "Insert step".

Why this?

Thx

Hallo OnlyOne,

I wish you a happy new year.

I saw you're question and I found that:

TestStand stores the settings in this dialog box in <TestStand Application Data>\Cfg\TestExec.ini and in type palette files. When you want to share the configuration of the Step Types list and Insert Step submenu with another computer, copy TestExec.ini to the target computer. Copying this file also copies the station options settings you configure in the Station Options dialog box.

I tested it on two diffrent Computers and it works. When you copy the TestExec.ini you will have the folder structure on the other PC.

Best regards

LMarini
