Did you mean:

[DLL][Error] -17502; System Level Exception; No details available

HI,

is anybody able to explain me why I have the following error dialog box in TestStand 2.0.1 during a DLL call :

"-17502; System Level Exception; No details available"

For your information, the same sequence converted to TestStand 3.1, 3.5, 4.0.1 and 4.1 can be executed several thousand times without any problem !!

Of course, we have tried to debug the dll but without success ; we can't find the reason of this Exception Level !!

Thanks for your help

Emmanuel

Hi Emmanuel,

We need more informations about the problem. Can you give more details? What is the operating system? all of TestStand version are on the same computer? what's happening if you try to execute your sequence in a computer with only TestStand 2.0?

We do not have any information about this particular dll. How have you done this dll?

The only thing I found with this problem description is that if you are using CVI RTE for the dll, the runtime might be corrupted.

Hope this helps

Hi Manuel,

I test the DLL on a new installation of Windows XP SP3 with only one TestStand 2.0.1 version.

The passed tests with TS 3.1 - 4.1 have been made on another "old" laptop with several versions of NI products under Windows XP SP2 OS.

I'm not the developer of the DLL and I don't know the builder environment but it's not CVI and we don't use CVI RTE.

For your information, the architecture of the DLL functions have been modifyed and the buffer allocation too. The called functions are the same and the prototype too. Now we don't have System Exception Error any more ! We can't explain it but it works !

If this can help you for future supports...

Best Regards

Emmanuel

Hi Emmanuel,

I am the developer of one of the dlls we are using and we have the same problem for a long time with TestStand 3.5 running on WindowsXP SP3 machine. We are using LabWindowsCVI 8.1 as development environment for dlls.

So could you please provide some more details about how your architecture solved the problem and what he excactly did to improve the buffer size allocations?

If you can help me, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you so much.

Best Regards,
