Deployment Alternate Association for Sequence Files

TestStand 3.1

In the TestStand Deployment Utility, under "Installer Options"->"Advanced Options" there is a setting for "Alternate Association for .seq files".  By default, this option is grayed out, but from the online help it seems like it would do exactly what we want.  We would like the installer for the TestStand project add an entry for the sequence file to the start menu and launch our custom operator interface.  Both the development system and the target system have a full install of TestStand on them.

I was able to get the option ungrayed by selecting Install TestStand Engine in the Installer Options tab.  However, the drop down for the "Alternate Association for .seq files" still just has one entry "No Alternate Association".  Is there any way to add the path to our Operator Interface ([TestStand]\OperatorInterfaces\User\Full-Featured\CVI\TestExec.exe) to this list?  Also, if we don't really want to install the TestStand Engine since the Target machine already has a full install of TestStand.

Peter,

You need to enable the checkbox Deploy Files in TestStand User Directories and also you need to make sure your OI is in the OperatorInterface\User folder for the deployment tool to pickup.
When you been through the Distributed Files Tab, you can select the Installer Tab. Enable the Install TestStand Engine checkbox, then in the Advanced Options, you will have other options available to you in the "Alternate Association for .seq files" , one should be your OI exe file.

Hope this helps.
