Hi NI Community,
I have been trying to troubleshoot a connection issue with my cDAQ-9185 for the past week with no luck.
I am running NI MAX 17.1.1, which is compatible with this cDAQ. I have used this version of NI MAX with this cDAQ chassis previously, on the same computer.
NI MAX recognizes the network device. However, it throws me an error when I try to add the device.
I have tried:
I am using the subnet mask of 255.255.0.0 and connecting via ethernet. Let me know if you have any thoughts on solutions for this error. My device was working fine last week, and all of a sudden decided it doesn't want to connect. I also have LABVIEW 16 installed on the computer.
Thanks in advance for the help

Hi JGreen,
Are you using TestStand in conjunction with this device? It sounds like this would be better suited to our Multifunction DAQ discussion forum - users familiar with DAQ help monitor & contribute to questions that they can answer, but they might not monitor the TestStand posts. You might get more assistance by posting on the most relevant board.
In the meantime
1. The first link on Error -201251 When I Try to Add a Device in NI MAX explains what TCP & UDP ports you can open to try to resolve this error.
2. The second link shows a compatibility guide for C Series devices - are all of yours compatible?
3. What changed between last week & now when your device stopped connecting? Did your OS update or an IT department update push?
4. You mentioned disabling the firewall - have you also stopped any antivirus software? Both could cause this behavior in your cDAQ, and they're distinct kinds of programs as explained in Difference Between Antivirus & Firewalls.
