I know I could call a LabView vi which then could play a .wav file, but wouldn't it be easier just to tell Windows (or prehaps the windows scripting host) to play the sound file directly?
You should be able to do this with ActiveX calls to media player (or some other player). I tried it (see attached file) but I get an error message when it tries to play. I'm probably using the wrong ActiveX components or calls.
