Hello,
i have a pc with installed labview runtime 2015.
Only one vi is labview 2016.
Is it possible to simply install both runtime-versions (2015 and 2016) and teststand automatically selects the needed version?
In Teststand Configure + Adapter + Labview the first dropdown is version: "Auto detect using vi version".
So it seems to be possible.
Is there any disadvantage doing this?
Thx

Hi OnlyOne,
You can certainly run two different versions of the LabVIEW Runtime Engine with TestStand, and choosing the Auto detect using VI version option will cause TestStand to choose the correct one. If you'd like more information, take a look at our TestStand help topic about this.
That being said, I'd suggest running on the same version of LabVIEW if possible. If you have LabVIEW 2016, you can revert your VI to 2015 in order to use the same version. If you don't have 2016, we also have a forum where users will convert your VI for you.
The main reason that I suggest using the same version of the Runtime Engine is that there are various caveats when using VIs saved in different versions of LabVIEW. I don't expect you to run into these with just 1 VI saved in a different version, but you avoid them all together by converting to 2015.
Cheers,
Ryan C.
