Measurement and Automation Explorer

Hi,

Not sure if this is the correct place for this question. If not could someone direct me to the correct place?

 I had Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX)2.2 installed on a Windows 98 PC.

I thought I was having a problem with a NI4351 PCI card so I upgraded the MAX software to 3.0.2 only to find the problem was else where!!!

Now I believe I have a new problem, when I send out a GPIB command I get in replay “VI Open Fail: -1073807343”

I am using an Agilent GPIB Interface Card, Test Stand 2.0 and C++ dll's.

Could this be caused by MAX 3.0.2?

If yes can it be fixed in MAX 3.0.2 or should I roll back to 2.2?

If I need to roll back to 2.2 I can not find a copy in-house, where would I get a copy?

Hi Simon,

Have you got NI-VISA installed? If so what version? It is needed for this type of comunication. There are several other forum posts disscussing this error, it is mostly due to VISA not being installed or the Instrument Desripter being invalid (blank spaces before or after it).
