NI-488.2 Drivers using TestStand Deployment Utility

Hi,

I am creating an installer using the TestStand Deployment utility which will have all the required drivers (DAQ, VISA, GPIB).
I have seen driver installation options for DAQ and VISA listed in the TestStand Deployment utility in TestStand 3.5, is it possible to add drivers for NI-488.2 (GPIB) to the same installer?

Thank you.

Hi Troy,

You should be able to include the 488.2 drivers from the same Drivers and Components installer options as the DAQ and VISA drivers. Are you not seeing that driver in the list?
If it doesn't appear there, then most likely you do not have the 488.2 driver installed on the development system. Simply install the NI 488.2 driver that you want to include on your development system, and you should see that option in Drivers and Components section of the installer options.

Hope this helps Troy, let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks Dan.
NI-488.2 is installed and I see NI-488.2 2.40 in NI Software under Add/Remove programs. However, I do not see it listed in drivers and components options under Drivers and Components in TestStand Deployment Utility. I don't have any hardware or GPIB card installed on the computer and I do not have a license for this driver since I am in the process of evaluation. Is that the reason I don't see the drivers?
Do I need a license for VISA and DAQ drivers?

Are you on a Windows XP machine? We actually have a more recent version of the 488.2 driver available - NI 488.2 2.4. Some of the older drivers did not support this type of deployment. I would recommend downloading and installing the most recent version of the driver, and seeing if that does that trick.

You do not need licenses for VISA, DAQ, or GPIB drivers.

Let us know Troy,

Development computer has Windows 2000. Are there any recent version of driver for Windows 2000?
Currently, I have  NI-488.2 2.40 installed.

Thanks.

The version I was referring to also supports Windows 2000. You can find it here.

Thanks Dan. But, it's already installed. I tried to install the one that you sent and it did not install since it was already present on the computer.

If you open Deployment utility on your computer that has NI 488.2 2.4, do you see NI 488.2 2.4 listed in drivers and components?
