NIRun error

An "automatic update" to a remote installation that uses TestStand resulted in the attached error. Does anyone know what would cause this?

Hi LabTech,

The error message is stating that an error is occurring in the PostStep substep of the INIOperatingStep in the Agilent COMeTS Operations Alpha3 sequence.  The INIOperatingStep is trying to call the NIRun code module.  It appears that the "automatic update" has made some changes to the ActiveX calls that that code module is calling.  What exactly it changed, I'm not sure.  I would check to see if the ActiveX server version changed.  Also, check to see if any of the ActiveX functions that you are calling changed.

Hi goel,

Can you please provide a little more detail on what you do that results in this error message? That way I can try to reproduce the problem here.

Thanks.

Hi goel,

I guess I'm still having trouble understanding how to reproduce this on my end. I have a couple of questions that if you answer will help me troubleshoot this:
  1. What is COMeTS and the Agilent COMeTS Operations?
  2. What is the step that you have created in COMeTS?
  3. The error message specifies a Visual Studio project, specifically a file called TestInstrument.StnCnfg. What is this file/project? Are you referencing it from TestStand somehow?
  4. You mention that you add an ini file to the type palatte and a station config file. What files in particular. Where are you specifying the path to the station config file?
