Hi,
I'm using TestStand V4.1.1, Measurement Studio Enterprise 8.6 and Visual Studio 2008 SP1. I'm trying to use the function ".NET Source code files" to step in a DLL created in VB 2008. The menu are always grayed out so we cannot specified any source file.
Is there any way we can activate this feature ?
Thanks

Hi Crusader,
TestStand 4.1.1 does not directly support integration with Visual Studio 2008 (only with VS 2005). This is why your source file controls are grayed out. However, if all you wish to do is debug a code module, you can do this by opening your code in VS 2008, putting a breakpoint in your method, and attaching the Visual Studio debugger to the SeqEdit.exe process (or your UI process if you are not using the sequence editor). Then just execute your sequence and Visual Studio should break on your breakpoint.

Yes, the next version of TestStand will support VS2008. The next version of TestStand should be available very soon.
In this next version of TestStand, we have made an effort to "future-proof" our Visual Studio support, so we are hopeful that it will also support VS 2010 and beyond. However, this can break if Microsoft changes their registration and programming interfaces to Visual Studio (which has happened in the past).

The new TestStand is planned for the second quarter update. There is a very high proability that it will be in the second quarter update.
I realize that it may seem like I'm trying to be coy, but I'm not. For a variety of reasons, we cannot pre-announce products, so I can't get any more specific than this.
