Question on using Property loader or Export property tool) with sequence containing steps with the same name

Hi all

Is there a propery loader seq  that uses Step ID rather than step name to load properties ?  I thought i'd ask before attempting to writing one - maybe it's in TS 4.x (I'm still on 3.1)?

I have several sequences that have identically named steps (eg a .seq that has two tests called "Demo Test")  and TS native Property Export Tool/ Property Loader does not like that ...

Hello,

Unfortunately, the property loader currently only uses the step names, and each step name has to be unique. The knowledgebase here has some information on automatically renaming steps with the same name, and you might find it useful. Hope this helps.

Was hoping that there might have been something in TS 4.x. 

Thanks for the KB link;  I didn't see it when i did a search.  Unfort the code i am working with (inherited code)  requires that tests have specific names (the test name is used by the code)
