Remove windows depending on user privilege?

Is it possible to show/hide certain windows on the TestStand exec depending on the privilege of the user.

For example, it doesn't seem necessary for an Operator to have access to the Insertion Palette - even though it can't be used.

I'm guessing not - and that's probably why the TestStand Simple and Full OIs are provided - but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Thanks,

Ronnie

You should only be giving your operators the UI(OI) and not the sequence editor.  Then nobody can see the palettes.  Consider the OI the runtime engine/version of TS.  Whereas the Seq Editor is the development environment.

Operators will still see the Insertion Palette but they can't edit the sequences from the Seq Editor.  There is a customizable sequence editor that I'm sure is able to show and hide palettes and windows based on User Privs.  However, you have to get a license for that.

It costs more than the original license and basically it is used for someone that would design a development system for a bunch of test engineers.

Good luck,
