Sequence Editor launches with "No Steps Selected"

My Teststand environment had been working perfectly until this morning when my attempt to launch NI TestStand Sequence Editor by clicking on its icon in the Windows 10 task bar.  The editor launched into a state that indicates "No Steps Selected"  In the Text indicator box at bottom of window.  On the center of the window there is a similar message displayed: "There are no steps selected.".  (See attached image)

I also attempted to open the editor by clicking on the sequence file that I wanted to edit, with the same results.

I have not seen these conditions before today.  What does this indicate, and how can I escape out of it.

Thanks.

It seems that your teststand software has caused the UI layout to be damaged for some reason. The Step settings page originally displayed at the bottom of the form has become full screen, and the menu has also disappeared.

You can try:

1. If you can retrieve the menu bar or hitting <Alt+V> to showing the menu bar, you can click the [View] - [Reset UI Configuration...] menu or holding <Alt> while hitting arrow keys until you reach the option [Reset UI Configuration...] and then press Enter key to reset the software's UI layout (it does not have a shortcut key)

2. If you cannot find the menu bar, it is recommended that you use the installation file to repair the software
