TSDUMMYMENUITEM after 4.0.1 upgrade

Hello mrbean,

Sorry for not getting to the point a little earlier, I just wanted to make sure you were actually seeing this behavior before moving on.  Somehow you must have gotten that VI from TestStand 4.0.1, because the VI that adds the dummy menu was not added until 4.0.1.  Anyhow, you can read this DevZone that explains how to fix the flickering menu issue, and should in turn fix the dummymenuitem's.  Let us know if that does not help out!

I am also having the same TSDUMMYMENUITEM problem just like the 1st post.

I have two version of TestStand in my system.

When TestStand 4.2 is Acive, I do see the added TSDUMMYMENUITEM in my custom OI

With Labview 8.6 and TestStand 4.2

TestStand - Remove Commands from Menu - do have the "Add Dummy Menu item" VI

TestStand - Cleanup Menus - have the "Is Dumy Menu Item?" VI

When TestStand 4.0 is Acive, I do not see the TSDUMMYMENUITEM in my custom OI

With Labview 8.6 and TestStand 4.0

TestStand - Remove Commands from Menu - does not have the "Add Dummy Menu item" VI

TestStand - Cleanup Menus - does not have the "Is Dumy Menu Item?" VI

When I have the correct versions of TestStand VIs; Why the TSDUMMYMENUITEM is getting added everytime I click on the menu?

Do I need to comment the "Add Dummy Menu item" VI in "TestStand - Remove Commands from Menu"?

The other posts earlier in this thread appear to address your questions in depth.  Have you been able to try the commenting out as well discussed as the DevZone that was discussed in nickb's post right before yours?  If you're still having troubles after trying the fixes discussed, please let us know so we can help further.

I am resurrecting an old HMI that was originally based on TestStand 4.0.1 and I am seeing the TSDUMMYMENUITEM issue discussed in this thread.  I was trying to see what the DevZone 5029 recommended years ago, but the page is no longer valid.  Any thoughts on where I can find that?  I am now using TestStand 2016, but the HMI source code is from the old version of TS that I customized.  I am using labview 2017 on the same system.  Not sure if a mass compile is the way to go to update this to a current version.  Regardless, when I run the VI I see the TSDUMMYMENUITEM which is why I am starting here.
