TestStand Next Release

Hi All,

In one of my previous discussions I came to know that there is a bug in TestStand API related to PropertyObjectFile.Lock and Unlock API methods and I will have to wait for the new release of TestStand to get a fix.

When will the next release of TestStand be available?

Thanks,
Harsha

Hi Harsha,

You didn't mention what version of TestStand you found a bug in. If the bug you found was not in TestStand 3.5, you can download the evaluation version here to see if the bug was fixed.  If you found the bug in TestStand 3.5, notify us if you have not already. As far as when it will be fixed, we can't release any of that information. Nor can we mention when future versions of TestStand will be released.

Thanks

Hi Jonathan,

The bug was found in version 3.5. The bug was confirmed by Scott Richardson. Please see below:

Unfortunately there is a bug in the PropertyObjectFile.Lock and Unlock API methods that we found recently that prevents it from working. The bug is in the engine so a new release of TestStand is required. Until then we recommend that you use only the DisplayLockUnlockDialog method.

Is there any information about when 3.6 will be released or is there any patch available that can fix this issue? Or is there any workaround for this. I don't want to use DisplayLockUnlockDialog, because my program is supposed to do this in the background.

Thanks/Harsha

Hi Harsha,

I am sorry but we cannot release any information about future versions of TestStand. Scott Richardson was correct about the workaround. You can either use that method or not lock.  This is on R&D's list for bugs, but when it will be fixed cannot be mentioned.

Thanks
