Joe,
I don't know much about Teradyne's Switch Manager, but if they have an automation interface (like a C/C++ DLL, a .NET Assembly or an ActiveX server), TestStand would be able to call into that. It just depends on how much functionality they have exposed through that interface, if one exists. As far as a comparison between TestStudio and TestStand, I haven't had any experience with TestStudio, so I can't say. Maybe another member of the community has looked into TestStudio and could provide some information.

I've never seen TestStudio but I looked on Teradynes website and saw that TestStudio 2003 has been released! 🙂
If the switch is IVI compliant you could use TestStand and Switch Executive and just the SCPM switch. Or you could use TestStand to call their Switch Manager software, if it had an automation interface, like ActiveX or .Net or a .dll or something. I bet your local NI DSM or Field Engineer could stop by and help you figure that out.
IMHO thare are many other factors to consider when selecting a Test Executive, one of which is TestStudio looks pretty far out of the mainstream.

Hi Joe,
Is it alright with you if I get your email information from the Forum Administrator in order to contact you directly?

I get the picture, good luck. I'm sure the NI guys can help get a demo of the switch working under TS.
