Hello Teststand gurus, currently I'm using teststand version 4.0. I have set the administrator log in password for the past 2 weeks and I forgot the password. Is there any way to reset it? Thanks guys.  newbie here. Smiley Happy

Shut down TestStand

Browse to C:\Program Files\National Instruments\<TestStand> and click the Cfg folder

Delete Users.ini

Restart TestStand

It should re-create the Users.ini file.

WARNING: You will delete any other users for that machine.

Hi Jigg,

This is an old thread.  I hope that you can still read it.

I tried the solution and delete the file "Users.ini".  Everything was grayed out when I restarted TestStand 4.2.1 even though a new Users.ini file was automatically created.

Thanks,

Did you log in as Administrator?  When you delete Users.ini file it should be recreated when you start TestStand.  When it is recreated it automatically adds an Administrator user with a blank password.  You need to log into TestStand as that Administrator.

Hope this helps,

Thank you so much for your response.  TestStand automatically logged me in as a technician.  The previous developers set a password on Developer and Admin privilege and they are not around anymore.  Is there anyway that I can reset the password and log in as Admin?

Happy holidays to you and your family.

Hi Jigg,

Totally my bad.  I didn't log in as Admin and Password = blank after clearing the Users.ini file.  It works now.  Thanks.
