Workspace file and Process Models

Within my TestStand deployment I have a TestStand workspace file that contains two TestStand prj files. One contains my app and associated UIRs, the other contains the TestExec.exe and .uir and the Users.ini file that I recently modified.

I recently modified the modelsupport2.dll and modelpanels.uir files. Do I need to add these files to a third TestStand prj file and add it to my workspace? It seems that I need to do this so that these modified files show up in my Distributed files list. Can I deploy these files (on the target) into the same directory where I put the sequence files and the needed .uir files?

Hi MrBean,

There is an option in the TestStand Deployment Utility. Under the 'System Source' tab, there is a checkbox called "Deploy Files in TestStand User Directories". If you have this checked, the utility will automatically include all the integral files of TestStand. You can see all the files added under "Distributed Files" tab in the utility.

I hope this helps.

I have the checkbox called "Deploy Files in TestStand User Directories" checked. What I'm wondering is, when I select any of these (User) files in the Distribution Files Tab, it shows that these files are to be deployed onto "TestStand Directory". Is this OK, or do they need to be placed into the same directory as the seq/uir files.

Hi,

It's best to let them deploy in they normal folder locations.
