calibration executive problem

I am using Calibration Executive 3.2 to calibrate my SCXI1102C modules and PCI6034E Daq cards. I was able to successfully calibrate 1 Daq card and 1 1102C module before running into problems.  When I get to the adjust voltage section I get an error talking about external voltages not correct and possible noise affects, the message also mentions a physical channel.  I have changed various components of my system with no improvement. I am using the recommended PCI 6032E Daq card plus Agilent power supply and DMM.  Has anyone any suggestions?

More information about the problem. The error dialogue reads as follows :-

error -200546 occurred at Daqmx Close External Calibration.VI at step adjust.

Possible reason(s):

Measurements:  External calibration failed, and the external calibration data has not been changed.

Make sure that the reference signal used for the calibration is stable and that the voltage matches the value specified to the calibration software. Disconnect the device from any external signals that might be introducing noise.

Physical channel name: SC1Mod1/ai26.

As far as I can tell from my instruments the voltage supply is stable.  I seem to have problems evey time I start to use the harware/software (usually once or twice per year).  Am I doing anything wrong?

Hi,

Which version of the DAQ or DAQmx drivers are you currently running?

Hi

I am using Daqmx 8.5: traditional Daq 7.4.1 is also installed on the PC.

Hi,

I would recommend that you download the latest DAQmx drivers - 8.7.1 - from the NI website, http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/965/lang/en

This may solve your issue,

Hi Dan

Installing Daqmx 8.7.1 has helped with the error situation. Thanks for that.  My SCXI1102C modules are still failing to calibrate. I have noticed that the value shown on the DMM (coming from the module) is different to that shown on the screen by at least 1-2 mV. This causes values deemed to be within the required limits by the DMM are classed as not meeting the limits by the software. Any thoughts on this matter?

cheers

Hi,

It sounds like the card could be faulty - I would try and confirm that this is the case for definite and then ring your local branch of NI to arrange a return of the DMM.

Dan
