connector pane - too many connections?

I'm having trouble currently with TestStand 4.0 and LabView 8.2.1 - every now and then, like once or twice (or more) a day, I get an error message that there is no object linked to something or other, meaning I must save and exit and reboot and start over.  The only thing that seems to get TestStand reliably running again is to go through my sequences and VI's and make sure none of them have more than 8 pins connected on the connector pane.  This means I often must delete connections to "error in" and "error out", as well as other pins I really would like to be able to specify and link through TestStand.
Has anyone else noticed this, or is there a preventive for this sort of problem?  Is there some upper limit on how many pins on a VI's connector pane can be referenced via a TestStand call?

Thanks for your post, Jim.

This is certainly unexpected behavior. I just created a LabVIEW VI with 9 pins (inputs and 1 output) on the connector pane and used this in TestStand 4.0 with no problems. What is the exact error that you are seeing, and is it generated by LabVIEW or TestStand. This information will help me to focus our troubleshooting.

Thanks again.
