max menu items reached

I'm currently using TestStand 2.0.1. I've reached the limit of 256 menu items. Normally to add a step to the sequence, I right-click on the sequence to insert a step and select an item from the menu list. Since the step type I need does not appear on the menu list I need an alternative method to add the step that I need. Is there any alternative method to creating an instance of a step type?

Unfortunately that is the limit built in to TestStand.

TestStand 3.x doesn't have that limitation.

If have to use TestStand 2.0.x, the only why round it is to try limit the number of Step types, or move the ones you are using most to top of the menu structure.
You can do this using the menu editor in the Step Type Palette view.

Note: somewhere in the depths of this TestStand Message Board is query I raised a few years ago, similar to your question and there is a response back from the guys at NI about the limitation of TestStand 2.01. Unfortuanately I have tried searching for it but have had any luck finding it.
