Did you mean:

metabuilderversion

I have built an installer and am looking at the differences between two systems. Where does the metabuilderversion come from? if they differ are they different versions of the same driver?

Charles,

Could you clarify on a few things mentioned here:

1) Are you trying to compare the development machine and the  target computer or two targets systems?
2) Where do you mean by the metabuilderversion? Is it something like x.y.z?
3) I assume you are making a TestStand deployment. I'm wondering if you are talking about the version of the deployment or a driver component included in the TestStand deployment.

I am trying to compare two deployments built from two different machines to verify that I am building liek the original image.

The metabuilderversion looks like:
manifest metaBuilderVersion="2.1.0.130" productID="{E040BA70-61B7-434E-A273-F62EB400AC4F}" schemaVersion="1.0.0.3" xmlns="NiDeployment" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="NiDeployment Manifest.xsd"

Hi, Charles,

Would you please clarify on where you found this file that contains the metaBuilderVersion information. I have tried to make a deployment and did not find it.

In the TestStand deployment utility, you may go to "Installer Options" tab and select "Advanced Options..." There is somewhere you can enter Version info there. The default is Auto Increment. But I think that could be where the metaBuilderVersion comes from. If you can tell me where you find that piece of info, I will be able to provide more insight to it.

Hi, Charles,

I got some answer for you.

This is the Metabuild Deployment Framework version.  Metabuild is what lets you create installers that have other NI installers inside of them (adding DAQ drivers to a LV installer or TS installer, etc...).  Since we are always making improvements to it, different products ship with different versions of MDF.  If you installed a new product, you may end up with a new version of the MDF.

I hope this answers your question.
