Veristand import Ouput/Input of a CRIO

Hello, 

I want to use the output and the input of my CRIO (9039) in Veristand, but I saw there are 2 different options. 

First with Scan Engine and Ethercat custome device. It'is from Custom devices

And the other solution that I found, it is directly on the hardware on the DAQ

So if someone knows the difference it will be very nice.
