What challenge/problem are you trying to solve through your application:

We come across many problems like vehicle theft, accidents in heavy traffic areas and blind spot areas. Blind spots(areas out of mirror coverage area) can be eliminated if we use large side mirror which is practically not possible. We cannot expect the driver to turn around frequently. Unfortunately a lot of drivers out there don't bother to check their blind spots (they only use their mirrors) before making a turn or lane change. While driving, one need to have control over the vehicle speed especially in speed limited zones. Hence we need a driver assistance as well as automatic speed controlling system.

Here we focus on three issues

  • Unauthorized access of vehicle
  • Collisions at speed limited zones
  • Accidents due to blind spot area

How does your application solves the above mentioned challenge/problem:

The proposed system provides solutions for above mentioned problems:

Security is a prime concern in our day today life. In this system we have ensured a safe locking system by providing a password for start of the ignition.This password based authentication system assures secure authority of vehicles preventing theft.As drivers don’t limit their speeds, accidents are caused at speed limited zones like school, hospital, lean bends of road. Hence speed of the vehicle is automatically reduced using RF technology, once it enters into speed limited zones. It achieves automatic speed control at various zones. Blind spot is the area around the vehicle that cannot be directly seen by the driver through either of the vehicle mirrors. Left side mirror covers viewing angle about 12°, right side mirror covers viewing angle about and rear view mirror covers viewing angle about 20°, so rest of the area existing around the vehicle throughout driving is its blind spot as. The sensor based monitoring system keeps a watchful eye on the blind area and intimates the driver if it senses any object in blind spot and also measures the distance between the host vehicle and object detected to prevent collisions.

Description of Project:

This project is developed in the vision of preventing accidents. Our proposed system has its great impact on automobiles. Combining three features namely security, automatic speed control and blind spot detection into a single system ensures a reliable and affordable system. It prevents unauthorized access of automobiles preventing theft. It ensures safe guard of public too by automatic speed limitation as a precaution to occurrence of collisions. Blind Spot Information System provides another element of safety for vehicle occupants. It recognizes cars and motorcycles or any object encountering blind spot with a sensor and intimates the driver decreasing the accident rate. It is important that these safety systems are repaired correctly to ensure their proper operation. Real-time assistance to the driver makes him to feel comfort while driving thus prevents accidents.
