Project Title:

STABOT-AN AUTONOMOUS SURVEILLANT ROBOT

Hardware & Software Used:

· NI ELVIS II+ [DAQ Kit]

· USB CAM + Sony Inbuilt Cam

· Ultra Sonic Sensors.

What challenge/problem are you trying to solve through your application:

  • Industries where the internal transportation of materials is mandatory, find difficult since they require more flexible means to achieve it.
  • In highly secured areas, the use of the stationary cameras for surveillance is both expensive and crackdown.
  • There are locations where the man find hard to prevail but yet to be predicted and investigated.

How does your application solves the above mentioned challenge/problem:

The building of the robot with the self-navigating capability and with on-board cameras serves as the best solution for the above mentioned challenges.

Description of Project:

  • A Robot designed for particular application cannot be used widely to perform other tasks. Using different Robots for different applications is quite costly and a crackdown. So, designing a Robot which can exploit every situation is a great task and needs to be explored.
  • This project aims to develop a network of multi-platform robot with diverse sensing modalities and re-configurable topologies for environmental surveillance. We have work up with Lab VIEW to design the robots controlling software. This project builds no special circumstances for the robot and asserts it to operate in the same real world environment. The project mainly uses a software implementation of obstacle detection and avoidance system for Wheeled Mobile Robot.
  • Interaction of the robot with the user is achieved by using predefined user gestures. We have analysed the real time situations in several applications like automatic vehicle parking, field ploughing, Industrial AGV’s, surveillance vehicles for Military applications, Home security robots and driverless vehicle for kids, handicapped and blind people etc. to program the robot to act according to the domain autonomously and also could be controlled manually.
  • Our project simply has four special features as below

Session 1: Controlling the real time application such as navigation of the robot using patterns.

Application: Military sites, Space stations etc.

Session 2: Avoiding the obstacles for the navigation using camera.

            Application: Industries, automated vehicles,Automatic caregiver for physically disabled peoples etc.

Session 3: Customizable PETBOT.

              Application: Shopping Malls, Domestic play toy etc

Session 4: Controlling the mouse event using patterns.

            Application: Office desktop etc.

Session 5:Automatic ploughing of agricultural fields

             Application:Paddy,maize harvesting and Ploughing etc
