Project Information

Project Title:Currency Change Generator Machine

Hardware & Software Used:  LabVIEW 11.0, Web cam, DC Motors, USB to Serial Convertor, Serial to Parallel Convertor

What challenge/problem are you trying to solve through your application:

In several small scale currency transactions, the importance of having correct change plays a very important role. This is also a cause for lot of delay in malls and other places. To reduce this, we have come up with a cost-efficient way of Currency Change Generator (CCG) machines.

How does your application solves the above mentioned challenge/problem:

The denomination of the note(s)/coin(s)  given to the CCG is sensed by the sensor  from which the cost of the product is deduced. The VI on the Single-Board RIO calculates the amount to be returned and thus the number of notes or coins of respective denominations to be returned. This is given as the signal to the actuators which release the required change from the storage. Then, the machine returns the receipt along with the change to be returned.

These machines are placed in all the malls and market places where the problem arises.
