What challenge/problem are you trying to solve through your application:

The challenges we are trying to solve are

1) To automate the manual meter reading and bill data entry process which causes a lot of labourious task and financial wastage.

2) To reduce increased energy consumption during peak hours.

How does your application solves the above mentioned challenge/problem:

Solution is  a wireless energy meter which is able to automate the manual meter reading  and bill entry process, and transmit its measured data wirelssly to a PC in the central station.

Energy consumption during peak hours can be reduced by the automatic power shutdown for those who exceeds preset load values.

Description of Project:

Wireless Energy meter is a modification over the existing energy meter so that we can fully automate the present meter reading system. It can also be used to regulate the energy consumption during peak hours.

The major aim of our project is to design an energy demand management system to encourage the consumer to use less energy during peak hours, or to move the time of energy use to off-peak

times such as nighttime. The proposed LabVIEW based energy demand management solution is based on Time of Day metering concept. The wireless energy meter is designed to fully automate the present meter reading system and regulate the energy consumption during peak hours. This is a solution for saving energy.
