Project Title: Self Balancing Two Wheel System with Obstacle Avoiding Capability using LabVIEW

Hardware & Software Used:

Hardware: Arduino ATMEGA 2560 ; IMU(Gyroscope and Accelerometer) ; Driver IC- L298 ; DC Motors ; Wheels

Software: NI LabVIEW, LIFA


What challenge/problem are you trying to solve through your application:

Small carts built utilizing this technology allow humans to travel short distances in a small area or factories as opposed to use cars or buggies.

How does your application solves the above mentioned challenge/problem:

This system is based on the principle of inverted pendulum; and is an electrically activated balancing machine with only two wheels with a feature to spin on the spot. This system manages to bring it self to the equilibrium point by creating an opposing force in the direction opposite to that of the user.

Description of Project:

The project aims at expanding the use of two wheel  system by creating a small, compact high performance control and instrumentation system that can be integrated into future transport systems. The two wheel balancing system has emerged as a new way of maneuverability and mobility in robotic applications.
