6250 Trigger Channel

Hi

I am currently working on a 6250 board connected to a BNC2110.

Currently I am triggering at an analog voltage level at connector0 (would be channel 0).

Now I would like to trigger channel 3 (the 4th). I named the 6250 card slot3_.
Now when I set the trigger channel from slot3_0 to slot3_3 LabView tells me that this is not valid.

Is this a limitation of the 6250 board? In the data sheet I could find:
Number of triggers: 1
Source: AI0...15

Please make sure that you use the correct naming. The screenshot shows a correctly configured example that triggers on AI2. Please note that the trigger channel needs to be the first channel in the scan list.

Hi Jochen

After calling NI support yesterday, I was told, that triggering from a channel other than ai0 is not possible with that card.

This sounds like a misunderstanding. The vi that I have used for the screenshot is running with a PCI-6250. This board supports as a trigger source AI<0..15> and APFI0 as specified.
Could you please tell me the Service Request Number (SRQ) for your support call?

Thanks,

Thank you for the information. I have clarified the issue. The answer that you got from our support was derived from the standard options available in the DAQ-Assistant. E. g. if you configure an acquisition for AI0...AI3 by default the assistant offers only APFI0 and AI0 as trigger source. Again, changing the scan order in the assistant does the trick.

thank you

If I find the time I will add a feature to my application (which needs to trigger from channel 4). Since time is running out, I can't tell whether I will try 🙂

Thank you anyways
