Hi
I have recently purchased few NI 1073 PXI Chassis that fits in a Automatic Test System. To my astonishment I have realized that it is impossible to mount the PXI chassis because it will not turn on when receiving power supply and I have to turn it on manually, an impossible action since the PXI is hidden in the rack. Because of the mechanics I cannot replace this PXI chassis with another but I want to replace the power switch to an ON/OFF intead of the push button that is installed now, or an alternative solution will be to bypass the power switch all together. I need your immediate help to solve this issue.

It is possible to have a PXIe chassis power up when AC power is applied. This behavior is controlled by a BIOS setting of the PXIe controller that you are using. The exact setting depends on the specific PXIe controller you are using, but usually, in BIOS setup, you can find this setting under Advanced > Power/Reset Configuration > Restore on AC Power Loss. You should set this option to On or Enabled.

Unfortunately the PXIe 1073 has no controller and it is controlled by the host computer VIA MXI card so obviously it has no BIOS or, I maybe wrong. Am I?
