Are there any known Compatibility issues with MXI-4 and PCIe bus (PCI Express)

My new upgraded cpu uses a pci express bus. I now have plenty of computing power, but the system locks up after running for a period of time. The application is unable to properly exit and must be shutdown using the task manager.

Chill,

There are no known compatibility issues regarding the PCI MXI-4 card on a machine equipped with a PCI express bus. Does all of the hardware appear in MAX and operate correctly using test panels? What programming environment are you using?

All of the hardware appears to operate normally until the system is run for a while. Our code is written in LabWindows CVI.

Chill,

Did this issue surface immediately after bringing the MXI setup to this new system? How long before this freeze occurs? Are there any blue screen error messages? It sounds to me the problem is more likely to be a memory leak in your code. Is there any way you can attribute this problem to MXI?

I have learned quite a bit about PCI, PCI-x, and PCIe since I originally submitted this question. This issue started when I could not get the MXI-3 interface to work (boot everytime) in this computer's standard pci 2.2 (5v 32bit)slot (Any ideas why not?). I was wrongly informed by the computer representative that it was a PCIe slot (I now believe the connectors are different). I then switched to the MXI-4 when told that MXI-3 was not compatible with PCIe. The MXI-4 is probably in a PCI-X slot. This confusion(ignorance of pci interfaces) is what initially led me to question the interface. Additionally, I have not noticed the problem on other platforms.

The problem does seem to be associated with running the CW3DGraph. It is the most
computationally intensive part of the program. So, I use it to push the processor hard during checkout. It could have a leak that I cannot track. Any info on that?

Thanks for your help, sorry for the confusion. In the past, I did not get involved in the details of the PC portion of our acquisition system. Those days are over.

Chill,

Those three protocols can become confusing. If you are still having problems using the MXI link in a PCIX slot please contact NI Support via e-mail at the following link. http://www.ni.com/support/
