I have a PXI-8156B controller running on Windows NT 4.0. It's only got 64kb of memory and an expired LABView 7.0 evaluation version of software. I've got LABView 8.6 on a few other computers on which I write my VI's. I can run them on the old PXI if I send it the file using Hyperlink because Windows NT 4.0 doesn't support USB. This takes a really long time, especially for big drivers.
I want to use NI-VISA to write a program to transfer files using USB so I can transfer files more efficiently. I can do this on my normal computers with LABView 8.6 using the Driver Development Wizard and USB RAW. But after I use the DDW on the PXI (with Windows NT) to install a USB driver for NI-VISA, NI-MAX still can't see my flash drive.
Is there anything I can do to get my PXI to see my USB device, or will this never work because it's NT? What about upgrading to Windows 95 or something like that?
Thank you very much.

Hello,
I don't believe that you will be able to do this on Windows NT 4.0. The Visa Driver Development Wizard creates a driver for that piece of hardware, and doesn't necessarily allow an operating system to utilize hardware that it wouldn't normally be able to use. You might want to take a look at this site to see if you can pull any useful information/software from it : http://www.everythingusb.com/windows_nt.html
Windows 95 provides support for USB with the OEM Service Release 2.1. You should be able to do what you're trying to do on Win95
