Hello everyone,
I was working with PXI 1042Q Chassis with the modules PXI 5441 AWG connected to Upconverter PXI-5610 to transmit a wireless signal and receive it with Downconverter PXI-5600 connceted with the OSP PXI-5142. Tools used: RFSG and RFSA.
Sadly, the upconverter 5610 is damaged. I was wondering if instead of using the Upconverter I can just use AWG and connect output channel 0 to antenna (it was prevously connected to the Input of Upconverter) , which obviously means signal frequency will be much lower but the IF frecuency still works for me. What consecuences would I have with this change of configuration? I can use FGEN in the transmission and RFSA in reception right?
Thank you!!

Hi ThrownFran
I want to help you with the doubts you have, first of all if the NI 5610 upconverter is damaged I recommend to you to call NI and ask for an RMA and with the direct help of an AE you can send the board for repair.
About your question, it will probably not work because one of the features of the upconverter other than increase de sample rate is to add power to the transmission, which is not a feature of the AWG. You can try it but this device is not meant to do it.
Hope this info helps you!!!
