Can't Identify PXI chassis

 Hi,

I just recieved a PXI-1036 Chassis connected to a computer with a MXI-4 card.  I'm trying to get set up, and went to identify the chassis in MAX, however, when I right click on the model and go to "Identify As..."  and select my chassis model, it doesn't allo me to save my indentification.   I've downloaded and installed the "PXI Platform Services 2.4.2", but nothing changes.  Can anyone help?

Thanks

Hello.

In which order do you turn on your chassis and you computer? You have to reboot the computer AFTER the PXI chassis.

Are your MXI card and the other cards correctly seen under Windows device manager? Have you installed NI-VISA?

Regards.

Hi,

Yeah, I turn the chassis on first, before the computer, and NI-Visa is also installed.  Here are screen shots of my Device Manager and my MAX showing the NI software installed.

Hello.

When you say that you can't save your configuration under MAX, do you mean that the save icon is dimmed?

In all the cases, I rather suggest you ton contact NI support, and I think it's the best way to solve quickly your issue. In which country are you?

Hi,

Yeah.. I mean that the save icon is dimmed.. and when I select the chassis with the drop down box, the selection doesn't get saved (i.e.  if I switch to a new window and come back, it still says that its Unrecognized.

For the country, I'm actually in Paris France.

Thanks,

-Sidney

No, I never resolved it as I needed the thing immediately for our work.. so couldn't deal with their support delays.  I manage to program and use the FPGA, but I havent't ever put more cards in the PXI chassis either though.. so who knows how that'll work out.

I'd be curious to hear if you ever figure out the problem though.  Thanks
