Desktop PC does not recognize PXI 8420 ?

Hi,

I am using a PXI-1000B Chassis with PXI 8335(MXI-3), PXI 8420 / 4(RS232 Serial) and PXI 6115 DAQ. I installed all the NI device drivers and also MXI-3 Software (version 1.15) and NI-Serial (version 3.4). Then I installed the PCI 8335 card to my Desktop PC. First I powered up the chassis and after some time I powered up the PC. The system (Windows XP Pro) recognized PXI 6115 and installed the drivers automatically. But PXI 8420 could not be recognized. I can see PXI 6115 on both MAX and Windows Device Manager and I can even acquire data using 6115 but I can not see PXI 8420 anywhere. Also, on startup, my system finds a new hadware (Simple PCI Communication Device) and when I choose "install the drivers automatically" no drivers can be installed. I tried the NI-Serial Troubleshooting Wizard it can not verify the hardware presence with the message no serial interfaces detected on the system.

What may be the solution to this problem?

I have a couple suggestions:

1. Change the slot that the 8420 is in and see if this changes anything.
2. If the Found New Hardware Wizard shows up then the device should show up in Device Manager. Expand all the entries and look for a yellow exclamation point. If you find it try to double click and Update Driver.
3. If you still have no luck, try to uninstall and reinstall the NI-Serial drivers from here.
