We refer to any PXI controller, whether it is running Windows or Real-Time as an embedded controller. A Real-Time controller is running LabVIEW Real-Time.

Does that answer your question? If not, please post a reply.

Hello Suresh,

That is correct. LabVIEW Real-Time runs a on real-time operating system. Any embedded PXI controller that is noted as a Real-Time or dual-boot (can be booted into Windows or RT) will run the real-time operating system. Otherwise, it runs Windows.

Our Real-Time PXI controllers include the PXI-8176, 8186, and 8145. For more information about LabVIEW Real-Time, take a look at http://www.ni.com/realtime. Here is another interesting link on the Developer Zone that pretty thorougly explains the different real-time hardware options that are available.

If you have any other question
s, please post a reply or contact us at http://www.ni.com/contact.
