Is it possible to purchase a 10m PXI express cable from NI or 3rd party vendor?
Also, can the copper PXIe be converted to fiber for longer distance runs?
Is it possible to run PXIe over GigaEthernet? That would be very cool!

Hey sachsm,
I'm assuming you're referring to the MXI cable that runs from your PXIe chassis to your computer? If so, then:
The maximum length for a MXI Express cable is 7m. Anything longer might give you corrupt data and bad transmissions.
The copper MXI Express cable can't be "converted" to fiber optic for longer distances. You'd have to have a MXI Express card compatible with the fiber optic cable to be able to do this, which currently we don't have (we do have fiber-optic for MXI-4, but not yet for MXI Express)
For the GigaEthernet question, I'm not really sure what you're asking. PXI/MXI communication is different from ethernet communication, so on a hardware level you can't really convert PXI/MXI to ethernet communication. We do have some PXI Gigabit Ethernet devices, which are mostly used for our Vision Acquisition software. If this is something you're interested in, take a look at our PXIe-8234 : https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/model.pxie-8234.html
