Generally this is the same issue as if you had forgotten a password on a normal computer - think of an RT PXI(e) Controller like a laptop. How would you recover the password from a laptop/PC? You need to clear the CMOS of the controller.

Page 2-16 shows you the button on the motherboard of the controller that is used to clear the battery-backed CMOS memory. This doesn't affect installed software, only the settings within the controller's BIOS.
