GPS simulator possibilities

Hi,

I don't have yet NI GPS simulator, but I want to know if it could be useful for me.

I know it can read a scenario file (NMEA standard I guess) but I don't need that.

My purpose is to send location datas that are calculated by a host computer

maybe using a RS232 or Ethernet link as often as possible.

Is this feature available ?  And how often (maximum frequency) these location datas may be

refreshed ?

Thank you for your help

Hi plqsog,

Thanks for posting on National Instruments forum.

The NI GPS Simulator combines software and hardware to be able to:

  • Generate 24 hours of up to 12 satellite C/A codes (L1)
  • Achieve automatic satellite simulation from almanac and ephemeris files
  • Define custom motion trajectories for mobile simulation
  • Adjust individual satellite power levels for scenario-specific test
  • Take advantage of manual control of satellite pseudorange, Doppler, and power-level information

So, there is no RS232 or Ethernet connection available but you can have your own defined position data and generate the GPS signal.

Thank you for your answer.

So, if "you can have your own defined position data" as you wrote, what kind of user interface is available to send my own position to the GPS simulator ?
