I have a PXI 1031 chassis with a PXI-8310 USB interface and would like to use that to input about 30 channels of thermocouples in addition to 6 analog inputs with 2 analog outputs.
The analog inputs and outputs are not a problem but I need some assistance with the thermocouple information.
Is there a PXI module that can do this directly, or do I need hardware and software to accomplish this?
We are running Windows 2002XP w/service pack 2

Hi,
I am not sure what modules you have in your PXI chassis currently but there is not any specific thermocouple modules that are a PXI form factor. However, you can use an analog input module and then create a custom scale that converts the resultant voltage to temperature. The link below is a list of all the different analog input modules available to use with your chassis. You can use this same search to find a module that has the desired number of analog outputs also.

I would recommend if you are unfamiliar with our different devices and software to call National Instruments support. We can give you a better idea of the what we have available before you purchase any devices.
