Installing PXI-CardBus-8310 Driver crashed windows

I have recently switched to a laptop, and attempted to install the driver software for the PXI-Cardbus-8310 controller.  The installation halted, and crashed the PC.  Subsequently, the PC would only come up in safe mode.
 
I am running an IBM Thinkpad / Lenovo T60, which is newer than anything on the list of supported PCs. It runs XP SP2.  There was a brief blue screen, followed by the safemode/normal mode selection.
 
Has NI (or anyone else) attempted to install on a T60?

I have some questions for you to help troubleshoot this issue. When does the blue screen error occur? Do you see the "Software Installation Dialog box" (from page 4 of the Installation Guide)? Or does it crash before that? Does it completely install and ask you to reboot? Did you follow the installation directions from the Installation Guide or from the NI CardBus-8310-to-PXI Expansion User Manual? The directions can be found in Chapter 2.

Do you have the 8310 in the computer during installation? I would make sure that you do not have the 8310 in the computer at the time, so that we can eliminate the hardware from causing the problem. Also is it in the computer when the blue screen occurs? If so please take it out and if it still receives a blue screen please send me a kernel dumb of the error. Krista: I followed the installation guide which was provided with the kit. I have not yet put the 8310 into this PC. The error occurred after clicking "Next>" on the software installation dialog box, but before the first prompt for restart. I have two minidump files from the event. If you can send your e-mail address, I will forward them to you. Since this brought the PC down, I am hesitant to try to replicate it to collect more data. This is the PC that I use for just about everything.

I have exactly the same problem with the same Laptop model lenovo T60p

were you able to fix it?

windows crashed during the Driver installation,  now windows can't start, just shows the blue screen for seconds and you can only start in same mode.

the blue screen shows: Driver IRQL Not Less or Equal

We were never able to solve the problem.  I had the same crash, with the same message on the blue screen.  After a couple of months, we purchased a desktop for this, and moved everything over to an -8331 interface.  I still cannot perform debug work on my laptop at remote sites.

so this seems to be related only to this particular Laptop model?
 
any way, do you know how could i manually uninstall or disable the 8310 driver in safe mode that is causing the blue screen?
 
i can not uninstall it normally under the Add/Remove programs.

Ed, I believe your assessment of specitivity to the T60 is correct. The NI website has a list of supported laptops for the -8310, and in excludes that model. We did a full recovery/rollback to an earier PC configuration. ---CJN

Add T61's to your list... though that's not a surprise. Has anyone found a solution yet? Where is this list of supported laptops? I haven't managed to find it.
