Is there a way to explictly choose which PCI bus the PXI interface resides on?

I have a PC with a PXI card connected to an MXI-3 card in a PXI chassis with other NI devices in the chassis. I'd like to reuse configuration files and tests that were developed on a previous similar system that has the same devices without having to re-specify the bus that the device resides on for each device. That is, the old system had the devices on PCI Buses 3 and 4, and this new system has the devices on PCI Bus 5 and 6. Is there a mechanism to explicitly change the PCI bus on the new system from 5 and 6 to 3 and 4 respectively?

Thanks in advance!

Hello ljhuang:

Thank you for contacting National Instruments. Have you tried looking in Measurement & Automation? In your new system, what devices are in the 3 and 4 PCI Bus?

We just went ahead and reconfigured the software anyway, since every system we build could potentially be different and we'd have to depend on the BIOS to autoconfigure the PCI devices in the system anyway. But for the sake of answering your question, MAX tells us:

PXI-1045 PXI chassis
PXI-MXI-3 bridge
3 PXI-2593
2 PXI-6534
1 NI-4070 for PXI
1 PXI-2530
1 PXI-2503
1 PXI-6713

We tried to assign which PXI bus each device uses through MAX but we were unable to force a particular configuration.

Thanks for your reply,
Larry
