MAX does not recognize PXI-4056 DMM module with PXI-1033 chassis

New to NI PXI chassis.   Using the PXI-1033 chassis with several installed modules.  I am able to see the chassis and two of the modules in MAX, but my PIX-4065(DMM) module is not listed/found.  Any advice?

I have to ask the stupid questions first.  Do you have NI-DMM installed in your computer?  Is the DMM card fully inserted (I have seen people not lock the card in and expect it to work)?

The DMM module in installed in the PXI-1033 chassis.  I've tried 3 different slots so I would imagine I had it fully inserted in at least one of them.

The only stupid question in the one that's not asked.

The 4065 DMM uses a different set of drivers than a number of our DAQ modules, as crossrulz mentioned.  You want to be sure to install NI-DMM so that the hardware is supported in software and can be recognized as a data acquisition device.  The most recent version of NI-DMM is available here:

NI DMM 3.0.6

If you've already installed those drivers (or some version of them), then we may have to look into other methods of troubleshooting.

Well, I"ve installed the most recent drivers(NI DMM 3.0.6) and the module is still not recognized and the other two modules in the chassis are now unavailable(small red X, next to colorless icons).   Any suggestions?

I've had driver problems with PXI in the past, and for whatever reason, you need to uninstall the old DMM drivers that came pre installed before installing the new ones. This worked for me. Just installing the new drivers doesn't seem to work.

After a "Reset Configuration Data" in MAX, my other two modules are now available.   All DMM drivers have been removed and most recent driver re-installed.  Still no luck finding DMM in MAX.

Are the PXI-4065s showing up in Windows Device Manager?  Do the devices show up as generic PCI devices or are they showing up under Data Acquisition Devices?   If they are showing up in Device Manager, try right-clicking on the device and install the driver manually.  Then check if they are showing up in MAX after doing a refresh (F5).

Thanks!
