Multiple Controller Cards in PXI-1045 Chassis?

I am currently using the PXI-1045 Chassis in which I currently have an 8105 Controller card as well as an RF-5671 Vector Signal Generator. I am wondering whether it is possible to insert an additional controller, possibly in a slave mode? The other controller I have is from Digital Receiver Technologies Inc. and is required to control wideband receivers that I have from the same manufacturer. All cards are compactPCI based. Basically, I want to use the PXI backplane to power and control these additional cards without interfering with the NI-PXI cards that I currently have installed. Is this possible?

Thanks,

Tim Sileo

Hi Tim,

There are allot of issues that could come from this. One how much power does the controller need? Depending on that the backplane may not be able to power it. Also the controller may want to control the PCI boards that are in the chassis. Basically, this has not been tested so we are not sure how this will affect the system. If you try it, post back and let us know how it goes.
