My PXI 8145RT controller does not boot when I turn the power on. The lamp sighning that power is OK is light but nothing else happens. This phenomenen happens from time to time but after some attempts finally the controller would start working. But the last day nothing happens. Any idea???

Hi Greece,

We definitely need to do a little more investigative work to see what the root cause of this boot problem might be. As you can see, there is a 9-pin serial port on the front of your controller. I've pasted a link to the user manual below -- in which there is a section which describes how to enable a "serial redirect" of diagnostic information. Essentially, you can connect the port to a serial port on your PC (configured with the appropriate comm settings) and view the diagnostic output through a terminal application (such as Microsoft's Hyperterminal). This will tell us more about what might be happening. Please give this a try and let us know what you find.

Thanks!!

Hi Greece
Well i feel there is a problem with the power supply. And if you gone through that power supply i.e.SMPS in the PXI is OK then you may format the drive & re-configure it. Any file may be currupt or your PXi is not configured properly.
