My signal shape is errred, and what is the bandwidth of my PXI-5922?

Good day,

I recently succeeded with your help to continuously acquire data. However, my signal doesnt look right so I have two questions:

1. I am collecting a square signal. Why does its shape look different (more of triangular + square shape) as shown in the figure in the attachment.

2. What is the bandwidth of my PXI 5922.

Thank you much,

Sincerely,

Loayeh.

Hello Loayeh,

As far as the bandwidth of your PXI-5922, per the 5922 specifications, it is 0.4 X Sample Rate. Because of this, looking for characteristics of a square wave such as rise and fall time would not be appropriate. The PXI-5922 is better at performing high-accuracy frequency measurements within it's bandwidth and is not usually used when looking at time-domain signals. If you could explain what kind of application you are trying to perform with this device it would help me give you any advice you need on where to go from here.

The behavior of the signal you are seeing is consistent with the bandwidth limitations of the PXI-5922.

Regards,
Dan King
