NI 5661Hardware trigger

Hello.

I'm using the niRFSA 5661 in combination with a Pre Amplifier ni5690.
I'm programming with the Visual Studio 2005 in language C#.
At the moment i accomplish a Spectrum acquisition. Every time you start a measure a Spectrum acquiaiton is made.
Now the "problem": I want to trigger the Digitizer with an external Signal on the 'Trig Input' of the Digitizer, for example with
a frequency of 40 Hz so that every 25 ms a spectrum acquisition is made.
I read the niRFSA help but there was no comment on how to solve this problem.

Can anyone help me and give me a hint???

EDIT:
I forgot to say that the extern Signal with which i want to trigger comes from a position encoder.
This position encoder send every 7cm an impuls an this should be my trigger, that everytime an impuls is arriving
a spectrum acquisition is made.
