NI CAN & LabView 8.0.1 and LabView 8.6.1

I have installed LabView 8.6.1 for a new project, older project was with LV 8.0.1.

Now I can't open the older application because install remove CAN library for LabView 8.0, and I can't update this software to 8.6.

How I can restore older lib under Ni LabVIEW 8.0\vi.lib\nican so I can recompile my older application?

Hi,

If you need to you can uninstall your current version of NI-CAN and then install the older version that you had previously. This should install support for you older version of LabVIEW and allow you open your project.

Thankl's for your answer, but I don't want to uninstall new driver, otherwise new application can't run! I use my PC to develope different application and I need to be ready to change older and newer without installing and reinstalling driver!

I migrate to LV 8.6 for compatibility with new PXI cpu, but I have many project running around the world with 8.0 and I cant' upgrade this projcet to 8.6.

By the way, there is no any other possibility in order to keep the double environement running?

Hi,

You would need to uninstall the current driver and install an older version of the driver that supports both versions of LabVIEW. Unfortunately, I can’t find a NI-CAN version that supports both LabVIEW versions. You can check for yourself at ni.com/support, drivers and updates, search for NI CAN and then look at the readmes for the drivers.
