NI PXIe-1082 boot

How do I remote boot a NI PXIe-1082 PXI chassis if I don't have access to the boot button on the front of the chassis?

"The NI PXIe-1082 chassis supports remote voltage monitoring and inhibiting through a female 9-pin D-SUB (DB-9) connector located on the rear panel. Table 2-1 shows the pinout of the 9-pin D-SUB (DB-9) connector"

You might be able to leave the switch on "ON" and turn the chassis on and off by manipulating pin 5 of the Monitor/Control connector.

I'll look into the inhibit signal and see what it can be used as you suggest
