Need Help Accessing Modules on PXIe 8861

Hello, I am quite new to LabVIEW and the NI environment and I am having trouble with properly connecting to the modules on my PXIe device. Right now I am using the NI PXIe 8861 and I have 3 modules slotted in, the PXI 6123, PXIe 4353, and the PXI 8512. I have matched all the software versions I need (at least I think):
PXIe:

PC:

Though when I look in MAX it shows this:

And when I look at the error message it says that the driver versions are different and says the driver is "NI-DAQmx Device Driver 25.3.0f289". Obviously, this points to a pretty obvious error, but it seems like I've tried everything and haven't find much success.

Help would be appreciated.

Hi Rob,

After reviewing the system configuration, I can confirm that the versions of
NI-DAQmx installed on both the PXIe-8861 controller and the host PC are indeed compatible:

  • Controller: NI-DAQmx 25.3.0
  • Host PC: NI-DAQmx 2025 Q2 Patch 1

According to NI’s official version mapping Q2 = 25.3, meaning both systems are aligned Error -88716 or Red 'X' on Real-Time (RT) Controller or DAQ Card in NI MAX - NI

This confirms that the issue is not related to a version mismatch between host and target.

I can suggest to:

  1. Reinstall NI-DAQmx
Even though the version is correct, a corrupted or incomplete installation could still cause issues so reinstalling it on the controller may help.

  1. Check Firmware and BIOS
Ensure that the PXIe-8861 controller and the PXI modules (6123, 4353) are running the latest firmware versions.

NI MAX > Remote Systems > Right click PXIe-8861 > Web Configuration > Check System Settings or Firmware Info section

PXIe-8861 BIOS Setup Utility - NI

NI Driver and Software Downloads

  1. Hardware Slot Check
If the issue persists, try moving the modules to different slots to rule out hardware or backplane issues.

Let me know how it goes or if any of these steps help resolve the issue

Regards
